This is my blog that follows swimming & diving in Winona MN and those Winonans that have left to swim elsewhere. Occasionally I will post items of info related to swimming & diving in general.

You'd think one one hundredth of a second would be enough!

Big 10 Men’s Swimming & Diving

Second day (Thursday) standings

Univ of Michigan            259.5
Indiana Univ                    251
Ohio State Univ              183
Univ of MN                    159.5
Purdue                            125.5
Penn State                       102
Univ of Wisc                     94
Univ of Iowa                     87.5
Northwestern                    86
Michigan State                  76

A highlight from the session: A swim-off was required in the 50 Freestyle to determine who would be in the “B: Final, they had tied in prelims at 20.13 seconds. They competed in their swim-off and tied AGAIN at, you guessed it, 20.13 seconds. They rested for 30 minutes and swam another swim off, this time the swimmer from Purdue was the clear winner 20.11 to 20.23 and went on to swim in the evening finals. Great Drama!

Friday's prelims required two more swim offs!

Finals at 6:30 PM!
