I said more Divers, not Drivers!

“Hey, what are these golf clubs doing in the hotel room?”

“Well, you said we needed more drivers if we were going to keep things close.”

“No, no, no, I said DIVERS, not DRIVERS, we need points!”

Tonight Day 2 of the Big 10 Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship is complete and the meet is shaping up to be the close battle the National Rankings implied it to be.

After Day1’s competition, the 200 Medley Relay and the 800 Free Relay, only 2 points separated the tied Indiana University Hoosiers and Wisconsin Badgers from the Second place Minnesota Gophers.

The 500 Freestyle put the Gophers in the driver’s seat, compliments of Ashley Steenvoorden’s win. Points wise though, Minnesota’s 1-5-7-11-12 place finishes were countered by Indiana’s 2-3-6-13 place finishes to keep the lead within 3 points but both teams start to outdistance (no pun intended) the rest of the pack

Not so fast though, Indiana places SIX, yes SIX divers in the points (16th and higher).
