Tonight Day 2 of the Big 10 Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship is complete and the meet is shaping up to be the close battle the National Rankings implied it to be.
After Day1’s competition, the 200 Medley Relay and the 800 Free Relay, only 2 points separated the tied Indiana University Hoosiers and Wisconsin Badgers from the Second place Minnesota Gophers.

Day 2 started with the 200 Free Relay and then kicked off the start of Individual competition. The 200 Free Relay saw Indiana stay at the top, Minnesota stayed right behind them by 4 points tied with rising Michigan.

The 50 Freestyle saw Minnesota reel the Hoosiers back in a little closer as neither team scored real well.

Then 1 Meter Diving takes place. Minnesota Gopher Kelsey Bryant not only wins but breaks the point record she set at last years Big 10 Championships. IN her first year at the Big 10 Championships, Maggie Keefer places 5th overall for 34 total points between the two of them. Not so fast though, Indiana places SIX, yes SIX divers in the points (16th and higher). On the strength of their 2-4-6-7-11-15th place finishes, the Hoosiers manage to open up their lead on the Gophers.

This meet is heating up to be a real slug it out event between the Minnesota Gophers and the Indiana Hoosiers.
