Gopher Women defeat Michigan 169-131 to win their opening meet of the season

The Gophers dominated the first 3 events winning the 400 Medley Relay and sweeping 1-2-3 in the 1650 and 200 free style. They never looked back from there.

All American Jillian Tyler won the 100 (1:00.86) & 200 Breast (2:13.59) and the 200 IM (2:05.03).

Junior Hannah Whitehead took the 100 & 200 Backstroke (56.44 & 2:01.39).

Gopher Freshman Margaret Keefer, last year’s Class AA Springboard Diving State champion from Stillwater won the 1 Meter Diving (319.35).

Junior Ashley Steenvoorden won the 1650 Freestyle finishing 26 seconds ahead of the pack in 16:32.04. For you swimmers doing the math that is averaging a hair over 30 seconds a 50 for 33 laps as in:
