Rochester John Marshall comes to town maybe appreciating
wins a little more than last year. They were 12-0 last year, Big 9 Champs AND
Section 1AA Champs five times and ninth at Class AA State. After kicking off
this year, they were riding a 54 straight dual meets into this September. That
all came crashing down a month ago and they have now lost (shutter) TWO dual
meets this season, ( Mayo and Mankato West). So maybe they have a more urgent
sense about winning those that they think they can win, making them all the
more vulnerable because the opposite is also a little more realistic in their
minds.
Rest assured, they still have some great swimmers and put up
some great swims. Seniors Taylor Bass, Anna Becker and Taylor Emery all
qualified for the state meet a year ago and were all-conference. They are
strong in the technical strokes but slightly, very slightly vulnerable in the sprints
and diving.

The Winhawks
are coming off of a GREAT Spartan Invitational and are feeling pretty good
about themselves. Combining that with having pushed back hard against Faribault
last week, they may just be ready to step up to the next level.
WSHS Pool,
