The post Olympic Year USA Grand Prix Series can be one of the best, for the fans.
The swimmers have got back into training since the Olympics, many are competing at their colleges, (or high school in Missy Franklin's case), some are training to prepare for the upcoming big USA and International meets.
2012 AT&T Winter National Championships are Nov. 29 –
Dec. 1 at the University of Texas,
Austin and on the International scene the 11th FINA Short Course World
Championships take place Dec. 12-16, 2012, Istanbul, Turkey.
MANY of the swimmers that will be at the University of MN next
week will be tuning up for these events. Among the greats in attendance will be
Ryan Lochte, Conor Dwyer, Mike Alexandrov, Garrett Weber-Gale, Chloe Sutton, and
Claire Donahue.
Still, it is just a warm-up to get "meet ready" and the atmosphere should be pretty lite AND competitive at the same time. In this type of meet venue, getting autographs and pictures of the Olympians and stars is a pretty easy task! They often come over to the rail between events to sign something if you ask.
If you see me on deck give a shout! We will be prim and proper if we have swimmers in our water, it is a National level meet. But if I am going on or off deck, give me a wave!
Here is the psyc sheet with the entry times (in some cases look at the end of the event entries, some of the greats are seeded using meter times and as such are listed after the yard times).
