October 1st, the unofficial start of fall, trees
are turning, mornings are crisper what a great time of.........
Oh wait, you thought I meant something else. Well there is
that too, the annual dual meet get-together with the always peppy and speedy
Rochester JM Rockets (6-0-0), (6-0-0).
Hey Big 9 fourth place Winona Winhawks (4-3-0) (3-1-0), what’s my
motto? That’s right, it just doesn’t matter! (For you newbies proceed to the
bottom of the post and follow the link to get the inside joke.) Every year we
come up on this meet and some, (not all) obsess with predicting the inevitable outcome.
Typically I post both names and times of the opposing team so fans will know who
to watch for. But this is Rochester JM. All I have to put is the names, Allison
Schumacher, Madison Emery, Taylor Bass et al.
You know what the prospects are for this one meet. We talk about going into this meet with the expectation we
do for ALL swim meets, swimming your hardest, looking at personal goals,
gaining more racing experience, BUILDING toward the end of the season.
What do
you get to do in Rochester? You get to dive off the blocks and swim hard –n-
fast. The rest is just the pieces falling into place.
But wait , there should be some great events to watch. The
200 Freestyle Relay will be entertaining, the Butterfly, Breaststroke, 100 Free
AND the Breaststroke are ALL in play for great races. It’s an away meet so what
does that mean? We get to watch DIVING!!!!!!!!!!
It all comes down to line-up, health, and ATTITUDE.

you need to stay loose and stay focused on the long term goals. This is a great
chance to take on some great competition, learn from it, apply it.
And HAVE
FUN, after all , we’re on the pool deck, what’s better than that!
