Start with hard work, some planning, add some attitude and you get National Championships, accolades and the highest finish ever.

The Minnesota Gopher Women’s Swimming & Diving Team enjoyed its best finish at the national championship meet ever finishing in ninth place and scoring the most points at NCAAs in Gopher history with 192.

The Gophers produced 3 National Champions out of the 21 different events, the 1 meter diving, (Kelci Bryant). The 100 Yard Breaststroke (Jillian Tyler) and the 200 Yard Breaststroke (Haley Spencer).

Topping off the meet, Bryant was named the CSCAA Diver of the Championships after winning the 1-meter diving national title and adding national runner-up honors on the 3-meter springboard. Her Coach, Wenbo Chen received CSCAA Diving Coach of the Championships. Chen coached both Bryant and freshman Maggie Keefer to All-America honors at the 2011 Championships. Keefer competed in all three diving events, earning All-America Honorable Mention acclaim with an 11th-place finish in 1-meter diving.
