Gopher Women start strong at NCAA Div I Nationals

The University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Women’s team had a good first day of the Championships, currently sitting in 8th place. They scored points in the 500 Freestyle, 1 Meter Diving and the 400 Freestyle Relay.

Junior Ashley Steenvoorden held her seed in the Finals and placed 4th in the 500 Freestyle.

Junior Kelci Bryant was crowned NATIONAL Champion in 1 Meter springboard. She led from first dive to last.

Freshman Maggie Keefer, an at-large invite to the Championships proved the invite valid as she placed 11th in the 1 meter springboard.

The 400 Medley Relay made it into the A Final and swam to a 6th place finish.
