At the National Club Swimming Association (NCSA) Junior Nationals this weekend, MN Aquajet and Eden Prairie Junior Rachael Bootsma wins the 100 Yard Backstroke with a 50.76 time, the 2nd fastest American 100 yard backstroke ever.
Last Fall at the MN State HS Meet, Bootsma took the National High School 100 Back record from Cindy Tran (now swimming for University of California Berkley). On Friday after Bootsma’s swim where she blew away the field, her time was over a half a second faster than Tran’s winning time later that same day at the Women’s NCAA Division I Swimming Championships.
