Winona alumni go to visit the Buckeye State

The Minnesota Gopher Swimming & Diving Teams traveled to Ohio for the OSU Invitational swimming against Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, West Virginia, Miami University (Women only), and University of Pittsburgh.


The Final scores of the Men’s meet saw the Gopher Men finish 2nd to Ohio State but well ahead of 3rd place West Virginia.

The Gopher Women dominated their meet, winning overall with Ohio State in Second and West Virginia a distant third.

200 Medley Relay – The Gophers entered four relays and the four placed in the top seven places, 1,4,5, & 7th.
400 Free Relay – The Gophers entered three relays and they placed 1,4,& 6th out of 15 total entries from the six teams entered.
They went 1,2,3,5,6, and 9th in the 100 Butterfly.
They took three of the top four finishes in the 200 Freestyle, 2nd and a tie for 3rd between two Gophers.
100 Breaststroke they went 1,2,4 & 6th.
100 Backstroke, Finished 1st & 2nd.
500 Freestyle swept 1,2,3,5,& 8th
