Good things come to ye who waits........

For those of you that have been checking in for info on the Winhawks Boys' season as it starts, we're almost there. Info is starting to flow and I will cover their results from the Tiger Relays, give you an update as to where the Big 9 Standings are at, and start looking forward. 

In the mean time, I thought I would pass on to the 2011 Senior girls from the Winhawks an additional THANK YOU. Their totally unnecessary gift was put toward acquiring this:






So I always have one for 500 races no matter where I am refereeing. ( None of the Roch schools have one on site). So thank you again girls, it will always remind me of you when I use it.

And they're off.......

The Big 9 Boys Swimming & Diving Season opened the 2011-12 competition campaign Thursday. 

Rochester Century has been the team to beat in recent years. They’ve won eight Big Nine Conference championships in a row, five Section 1AA titles in a row and they placed fourth at last year’s State Meet.

Scores from the first night of competition:

Faribault              93,          Owatonna           93

Yet to compete, Mankato East gets into the swim of things this Saturday at the Hutchinson Invite and lastly Winona starts competition Thursday the 15th at Faribault.

The qualifying standards for each swimming event is established by taking the three (3) year
average of the 16th fastest time of the state meet preliminaries at the U of M Aquatic Center.
The standard may not deviate more than 1% up or down in any given year. This is indicated
with an asterick (*)
